Australia votes Yes!

yesWell the results are out and over 61% of people across the country voted yes to the question, should same sex couples be allowed to marry.  Mind you, this is a survey, not a referendum so it’s still up to the Government to pass the required law.

In my opinion the whole scheme was a colossal waste of time, millions of dollars, and caused quite unnecessary angst to thousands of people. The law was only changed by Parliament to prohibit same sex marriage in 2004 (without a survey!) so it should and could have been changed back by Parliament, if they’d been willing.

The only good thing to eventuate has been the massive enrolment to vote by predominantly young people, approximately 100K new enrolments. We’ll see what happens at the next election!

Revisiting past works…

Do you ever revisit one of your old books and think…I can do a little better? I recently re-read Rough Play after a break of several years. Mostly I’m happy with the story, but I discovered a few areas I thought I could improve.

Ironically, just as I was preparing my new improved 2017 version, I noticed a sudden rush of downloads on Amazon – bringing my book to #4 in (Free) Short Reads – LGBT!

Luckily, the book is free (or will be once I can convince Amazon to match prices with Smashwords) so readers can easily download the new version!

The latest edition should have “Author’s Preferred Edition 2017” in the front under the copyright notice.

Now available for download from Smashwords – coming soon for other stores!
